Mid-Term Update

Hi folks,

Just a quick note to say how we are doing.

This term has been very busy. As you know, last year I struggled to find things to do at church, however, this year has gone completely the other way. Today is actually the only Sunday between September and Christmas where I am not either preaching, leading worship or leading a service either at Streatham or elsewhere. On top of that Liz and I have been running a fellowship group and I've been heading up the church's music and worship team.

Now I can understand you thinking, "Surely as a minister-in-training it's fine that you're involved in those things?" Well, it is. Except that I'm a college-based student (meaning I spend 4 days a week in college and 8 hours a week at church), doing all most as many hours at church as a church-based student - which is about 24!

I would, therefore, greatly appreciate prayers for time-management, as well as discipline to get on with the work I have to do in the time available and definitely not to leave all the assignments to the end of the semester this time. Especially since there's twice as many of them!

Liz is fine. She is enjoying her new and job and (ironically) very pleased to have much more time to spend at home, where she is trying out a variety of new hobbies. I think baking is probably my favourite of those! Although it doesn't help the whole 'watching the weight' thing.
She has also been able to begin to get involved with the worship team at church and is helping out with a group called 'The Gap', which is run by our church's student evangelist and is a kind of 'pre-Alpha' course.

Please continue to pray for her, particularly for the opportunities she gets to speak to non-Christians at The Gap.
